The Holiday season is in full swing, even here in Florida! LOL I have always liked this time of year. The colors, the lights, the decorations, the smiles, it’s all wonderful! Each year, I would look forward to the time when I could put up the decorations, the tree, break out the hot cocoa, sing those glorious songs. The rest of the year was kind of blah till then. Christmastime was special. You could forget about the rest of the year for a while, until sometime in January, when all the fun got packed back into the boxes and stowed away in the garage.
But this year was different. This year, I didn’t need to break out those boxes to feel the joy. God did something wonderful and the joy has been like a fire burning in my heart since then. The lights on the tree, the tinsel, the garland, nothing like that could compare to the joy, glowing deep within me.
I like Christmas. I don’t know if the date is correct regarding the birth of Jesus here on earth. I know there’s a lot of materialism involved. Stress over things being perfect.
But at Christmas, practically the whole world is reminded of Jesus. The greatest proclamation ever given, was given on that starry night.
“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people! For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord!”
First of all, “Fear Not!” Whaaaat???? I know. The shepherds were surely shaking in their boots. Scared out of their minds to see angels appear on that quiet night. But for me, the message resounds throughout the ages, from the beginning of time and throughout eternity. Fear Not.
You don’t have to be afraid. Anymore. We don’t have to be afraid anymore . About anything at all. That’s the glorious resounding truth!!!
We have a Saviour!!!
Now the angels held this in their hearts from the beginning. We know that Jesus was the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the earth. But now, the angels got to declare it! Declare it to the world! And to them, the shepherds were the perfect audience. Not Kings. Not princes. Not movie stars. Not politicians. Shepherds on the night shift.
So Merry Christmas to all of us! To all people. We have a Saviour. Peace on Earth. Peace. Goodwill toward men. Goodwill. The eternal, glorious message from the One Who created light, and made the stars, and loves us more than we can ever imagine.
I love you all !
Now sing it like ya mean it!!!!
