God is all in all.
Therefore, God is in all things. All people. Not just believers. Not just the nice ones. God is all. In all. There is nothing outside of God.
Jesus said, when ye do it unto the least of these my brethren (everyone), ye do it unto me.
So in all my situations, my interactions, in essence I am dealing with God. When I get mom a glass of ice water, I am getting a glass of ice water for God. When someone cuts me off in traffic, I am cussing out God. When I am kind, when I am impatient, when I am generous, when I lose my temper. The recipient of it all is God.
In John, Jesus asks Peter, “Do you love me?” and Peter replies, readily, with “Yes, Lord, I love you.”
Jesus says to him, “Feed my sheep.”
Jesus asks again, “Peter, Do you love me?” Peter most likely pauses. And then clearly, “Yes, Lord, I love you.”
Jesus: “Feed my sheep. “
Again, “Peter, Do you love me?”
Peter is a bit exasperated now. I’ve already told you twice, he thinks, why do you keep asking? He responds, “Yes, Lord. You know I love you!”
“Then feed my sheep….”
What does Jesus mean? I believe Jesus means everyone. The rich, the poor, the weak, the strong, the believer, the atheist. Are we not all His sheep? Are we not all His brethren? We are all in the all that is God.
Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself. In this lies all the law and the prophets.
35 For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
I love you all.
